On January 15, 2010 a post-apocalyptic action film, The Book of Eli, starring Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman, Mila Kunis, Ray Stevenson, Jennifer Beals, Frances de la Tour, Michael Gambon, is released in USA. The Book of Eli is directed by Albert and Allen Hughes, written by Gary Whitta, and produced by Joel Silver, Susan Downey, Denzel Washington, Andrew Kosove, Broderick Johnson, and David Valdes. The movie is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures in North America and Sony Pictures Entertainment in other countries.

Filming was started in February 2009 in New Mexico. The Book of Eli is the first film by Hughes brothers’ since From Hell in 2001. The production is financed by Alcon Entertainment and co-produced by Silver Pictures.

In a post-apocalyptic America in 2043, when the once-picturesque country land has turned into a violent and desolate wasteland, one, lone hero, Eli (Denzel Washington), guards the Book of Eli, which holds the knowledge that could redeem the society and become a key to the survival of the human race, and fights to protect that sacred tome. The other persona, a despot (Gary Oldman) of a small wants to get the book and makes everything to do that.
