On August 7, 2009 the live action film, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (adaptation of the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero toy franchise), starring Channing Tatum, Dennis Quaid, Rachel Nichols, Ray Park, Marlon Wayans, etc., is released in the US theatres. The G.I. Joe film is directed by Stephen Sommers, written by Stuart Beattie and produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura. The screenplay for the movie was written by John Paul Kay in 1998. Th whole filming process took place in Prague’s Barrandov Studios and Downey, California.

Stephen Sommers has adapted the famous Hasbro G.I. Joe toy line with original ideas of Paramount Pictures which resulted into the glorious filmed battle of Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity against the evil forces of the evil Cobra organization.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra shows the rise of the Cobra Organization in 10 years since now. As Stephen Sommers said, “For people who know nothing about it, it’ll make sense. And to people who love this stuff, it’ll show where they all came from.” The film’s plot pay the most attention to Ripcord (Marlon Wayans) and Duke’s (Channing Tatum) induction to the G.I. Joe Team. The Team is based in the Pit and the Cobra Island is appearing in the film.

As for the locations where the film was filmed they include Moscow, Paris, the Arctic, Washington, D.C., the Sahara and Australia.
