On January 29, 2010 an adaptation of a 1985 BBC television series, Edge of Darkness, starring Mel Gibson, Ray Winstone, Danny Huston, Bojana Novakovic, is released in the US theatres. Edge of Darkness is directed by Martin Campbell, written by William Monahan, Andrew Bovell (screenplay) and Troy Kennedy Martin (television series), and produced by Graham King, Tim Headington, Michael Wearing. The movie is distributed by Warner Bros.

Edge of Darkness follows a detective (Mel Gibson) who investigates the murder of his activist daughter (Bojana Novakovic), and uncovers political conspiracies and cover-ups in the process of investigation.

As homicide detective Thomas Craven (Mel Gibson) investigates his activist daughter (Bojana Novakovic) death, he uncovers not only her secret life, but the government collusion and a corporate cover-up and that attracts an agent tasked with cleaning up the evidence.
