On October 23, 2009 a biographical film, based on the life of Amelia Earhart, Amelia, starring Hilary Swank, Richard Gere, Ewan McGregor, Virginia Madsen, Christopher Eccleston, is released in the United States. The script for Amelia is written by Ronald Bass and the movie is directed by Mira Nair. The movie is produces by Avalon Pictures.

The script is based on several books about Earhart, including Mary S. Lovell’s book The Sound of the Wings, Susan Butler’s East to the Dawn, and Elgin Long’s Amelia Earhart: The Mystery Solved.

The film traces the life of famed and famous aviator Amelia Earhart and chronicles her rise to the top when in 1932 she made history whae she became the first woman ever who flew across the Atlantic Ocean alone. 5 years later, when Amelia challenged herself to fly around the world, she and her plane crashed into the Pacific Ocean and vanished.

As for personal side of the plot, the film tells us about her relationship with her husband George Putnam.
