On July, 17, 2009 an americ an romantic comedy (500) Days of Summer is released. The movie is produced by Mark Waters and directed by Marc Webb. It features Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (this is actually their 2nd film togetherб Manic was the 1st ).

The movie is a story of a boy, Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), who meets a girl, Summer (Zooey Deschanel), and after a while they unpredictably fall in love with each other. The main thing here is that in the beginning of the movie the woman doesn’t believe at all in true love and a man is a hopeless romantic, and it is him who falls in love first.

The story of the two souls relationship is very unlinear and it makes unexpected twists during the whole щукщв ща 500 days of their acquaintance. Tom’s feelings go from ecstatic giddiness (which is revealed in a fantasy song and dance sequence) to crippling depression.

But Tom still believes. The modern cynical world around cannot shake his position. He continues to believe in a cosmically destined, lightning-strikes-once kind of love. He doesn’t care the Summer, the girl, doesn’t share his beliefs. Not at all. He just goes after her, again and again, resembling a modern Don Quixote with all his courage and might and a goal which may turn out to be a waste. And ultimately Tom finds out that he is not just in love with a witty, lovely, and intelligent woman, which is natural, but also with the very idea of such a love which has the power to shake the world and shock the heart.

The shooting started in April 2008 in Los Angeles, California. Fox Searchlight Pictures scheduled 500 Days Of Summer for limited release on July 17, 2009 in USA. In Australia it will be released on October 1, 2009.
